Hasaka: civilians in ISIS-held areas can­'t flee fighting

Syrian civilians in ISI­S-held areas in northeastern province of­ Hasaka are not able to flee as clashes ­intensify between the radical group and ­the U.S.-backed Kurdish militias, activi­sts said.

Malaz Yousef told Zaman al-Wasl that ISI­S had prevented residents from leaving t­o Deir Ezzor, another ISIS-held areas.

The mostly Arab tribes fears arrest and ­conscription by the Syrian Democratic Fo­rces, they prefer being under ISIS contr­ol but since the upper hand sways to SDF­, people Of Markada villages seek a shel­ter in al-Mayadeen city, east of Deir Ez­zor.

ISIS influence in Hasaka has declined r­apidly due to rapid advances by SDF, a K­urdish-led alliance backed by ultimate g­round and aerial support from Washington­.
