Syrian air force hides chemical weapons fears UN inspection: source

Syrian air force has taken secret and strict procedures to evade any evidence proving use of chemical weapons in its military airports, well-informed source said Monday.

Damascus believes that Donald Trump's administration to reap the maximum benefits of the Shayrat airfield attack and new strikes must be considered.

White House, itself, said Monday the Friday's cruise missile strikes in retaliation to Khan Sheikhoun chemical attack will not be a one-time punishment for the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Despite the Russian support, the Assad regime is expecting a U.N. investigation committee to check its military airbases, such an expectation pushed the air force officials to work secretly and inside the very close circle to hide the chemical weapons and to restrict the responsibility to the high-ranked Alawite officers.

The commander of the Syrian Air Force M. Gen Ahmed Baloul and Jamil Hassan, Head of the Air force intelligence are juts the two men in-charge, sources said.

The Syrian air force has also ordered to move its warplanes to the Russian-controlled Hmeimym airbase in Latakia province and to the civil airports.

The International airports of Damascus, Qamishli and Aleppo to be a substitute of military airports, source added.

The United States fired 59 cruise missiles at the air base on Friday from which it said a deadly chemical weapons attack had been launched last Tuesday and killed at least 103 people in Khan Sheikhoun town in Idlib province.

U.S. Navy Admiral Michelle Howard said the strikes had destroyed the means to deliver chemical weapons from that base, and the U.S. military remained ready to carry out further strikes if needed, Reuters reported.

Donald Trump's administration told Moscow and Damascus of its 'disciplinary act' three hours before the strike where Russian experts and pilots took off with their helicopters and warplanes from Shayrat to Hmeimym airbase in Latakia province.

On Sunday, a joint command center made up of the forces of Russia, Iran and militias supporting Bashar al Assad said the U.S. strike on Shayrat air base on Friday crossed "red lines" and it would respond to any new aggression and increase its support for its ally
