At least 15 civilians, mostly women and children, have been killed in rebel-held areas of Aleppo and Idlib provinces on Tuesday as regime forces backed by allied militias wage major offensive in the western countryside of Aleppo, local reporter said.
10 people, mostly children were killed in airstrikes on Maertahrma town in Idlib as well 5 more people were killed in Urum al-Kubra town in Aleppo countryside.
The aerial bombing targeted most of rebel-held areas, using incendiary bombs. Activists said the town of Darret Ezza was bombed by Phosphorus bombs on Tuesday.
The use of international forbidden bombs mounted in the last two week since the U.S. cruise missiles strikes hit Syrian airfield in retaliation to Sarin gas attack on Khan Sheikhoun town that left 103 people killed.
Meanwhile, Free Syrian Army factions said they had thwarted regime attack in the western countryside of Aleppo.
Idlib is one of the most important strongholds of rebels, including jihadist factions, who seek to overthrow Bashar al-Assad, whose air force, along with that of his ally Russia, has been heavily bombarding rebel there.
The peaceful demonstrations that ended up with deadly war carried out by the Syrian regime and key regional players has killed at least 465,000 people, including 150,000 children and has displaced over 12 million people
