Turkish Authorities have imposed new restrictions hardening the entry of Syrians at the border crossing of Bab al-Hawa.
The new restrictions has led to reducing the number of passengers entering Turkey, as each person may take 15-20 minutes to finish procedure, added to ceasing the reunite application, which used to range between 50 and 100 travelers, besides stopping the entry permission for non-urgent medical conditions.
A Syrian used to travel from and to Turkey frequently as he used to work in delivering aid to Syrians inside the country, told Zaman al-Wasl that it used to take him half an hour to cross the boarders to Turkey via Bab al-Hawa checkpoint, but the lst time it took him 5 hours, from 10:00 in the morning till almost 3:00 in the afternoon.
“I have to wait for 5 hours, then I was permitted to get on the sole bus that allowed to enter the Turkish side, then w we demanded to give our finger prints and an employee took a picture for us, then he waited till he received an answer from Ankara to let enter the Turkey after an hour", he detailed.
The nw procedure affected the processes of family reuniting, especially a husband who apply for reuniting the wife and children. Almost 50-100 people used to enter Turkey on that base, but now there is no enough capacity to cover all that number of applications.
In the same time, Turkey has stopped the process for entering the non-urgent medical conditions, like cancer, heart disease, liver and renal failure, but Turkey kept letting the urgent cases like war injuries as before.
Hundreds of Syrians of non-urgent medical conditions or who apply for reunion of their families are waiting to be allowed entering Turkey, their last vent, after hardening the procedure of entering the country by Turkey and other military factions, which apply Turkey’s orders regardless of their effects on Syrian people.
In the same time, the trade movement which enters millions of Dollars across Bab al-Hawa check point in Idlib and Bab al-Salameh is still the same and military faction protect and facilitate their movement
