Local sources in Barza, north Damascus, told Ammar Johmani that the deal is to displace the people and residents of the neighborhood. The first batch will be sent to Idlib on Monday.
Sources said the first batch will include about 1500 people, followed by about 7 other batches which in total will displace about 8 thousand people, some will go to Idlib, and others will travel to Jarablus in the countryside of Aleppo.
The sources compared what was agreed upon in Barza as a return to the scenario of many of the adjacent areas such as the al-Tal, Qudsaya and Wadi Barada. Those who will stay in the neighborhood are likely to to join the National Defense militia automatically although the regime says that these remaining will form the so-called "Self-protection".
The sources said that the forced displacement agreement was sponsored and supervised by the Russian, and they also supeversie the agreement where Russian soldiers will accompany convoys of the displaced.
The sources denied any Iranian intervention in the agreement, noting that Iran was not included in the deal. The series of displacement will keep drawing new demographic map of.
The neighborhood of Barza is one of the first neighborhoods that rebelled against Assad regime, and as a result it suffered from murder, destruction, arrest and abuse, in addition to Barza being located close to communities populated with sectarian loyalists, especially the Ish al-Warwar.
