A Syrian refugee woman died at the entrance of a Islamic Charity hospital in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli after denying access to Emergency department.
Tripoli News network, well-spread Facebook page, reported that the victim’s son Ali Antouz had reported bringing his mother to hospital at one afternoon on last Friday because she had plenty of fluid in her abdomen, but the emergency department delayed her admission claiming that they need permission from official bodies.
After 4 hours, the patient Khitam Zraik collapsed, but the doctor accused her of faking that to force them to admit her, according to her son.
After that, many young men carried her and put her on a bed in the emergency department, but she died after a while without receiving any treatment.
Administration of the Islamic Charity Hospital explained to Tripoli News Network that the patient was Syrian and when she arrived to the hospital, they needed a permission from the insurance company called Next Care, that is authorised by the relief agencies for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, to finish her admission procedures after finding out that she had an ultrasound scan in another hospital in the same day, but she died before finishing the admission procedures.
