Key rebel groups in southern Daraa province merged Saturday to unify armed and political agenda and what may serve a united Syria, according to statement posted online.
'The National Front for the Liberation of Syria' is the outcome of necessity as the the opposition armed factions suffer weakness due to mounting rifts and discords, activists said.
The statement assreted that no one can decide the destiny of the Syrian people, decrying the dictations by the regional powers and the International Community.
The 11 factions assured on the revolution principals and as the the unity of the Syrian land, calling on other factions to join their new alliance.
The merge come two weeks since the U.S.-Russia cessation of hostilities agreement went into effect in southern Syria.
In relevant development, Russia's defence ministry said Saturday that its officials had signed a deal with moderate rebels at peace talks in Cairo on how a safe zone in Eastern Ghouta will function.
"As a result of talks held in Cairo between Russian defence ministry officials and moderate Syrian opposition brokered by the Egyptian side ... agreements have been signed on how the Eastern Ghouta de-escalation zone will function," the defence ministry said in a statement sent to AFP.
