U.S.-led coalition killed a family of five, including 3 children, in airstrikes targeted north of Deir Ezzor province in support of Kurdish-led fighters who press to expel ISIS from the de facto capital, local sources said Saturday.
The US-led strikes also pounded a prison near al-Shaddadi town; the second jail to be hit in a week.
US-led coalition air strikes on a jail run by ISIS in Mayadeen, 45 km (28 miles) southeast of Deir Ezzor, killed at least 57 people last Tuesday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The coalition airstrikes killed about 400 people in eastern Syrian last June, according to the Observatory.
On Wednesday, at least 50 civilians were killed when Russia`s warplanes pounded the eastern Deir Ezzor province with cluster bombs, local monitoring group.
