Netanyahu threatens to hit the Iranian presence south of Syria

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to strike at Iranian-backed foreign militias deployed in southern Syria.

Netanyahu said during a meeting with his ministers and intelligence chiefs that Israel will not stand idly by in the face of the growing presence of Iran's military and Shiite militias supporting it in Syria, adding that Israeli forces are fully aware of ways to defend themselves in the face of threats posed by the presence of hostile forces on our borders Oriental ".

For his part, called a member of the Ministerial Council mini-security "Naftali Bennett" to exercise Israel's right to defend itself in the face of growing Iranian influence in the region.

Mossad chief Yossi Cohen was the first to warn of the Iranian presence in Syria and Iraq, where he said earlier that each area being expelled from the state is controlled by Iranian influence, which seeks to control the entire area, including the border areas.

It is noteworthy that Israel expressed its fear of the Iranian presence several years ago, where Energy Minister Yuval Stantis said in September 2015 that the Iranian expansion within the Syrian territory raises concern, especially in the case of arrival at the northern Israeli border.
