Syrian-Pakistani talks to enhance cooperation in education field

Damascus, SANA- Enhancing means of cooperation between Syria and Pakistan in the scientific, technical and professional fields along with exchanging experiences were the most prominent issues  discussed on Monday during the meeting of Minister of Education Darem Tabbaa with his Pakistani counterpart  Rana Tanveer Hussain.

During the meeting held at the Ministry’s building in Damascus, the two ministers discussed means of promoting a joint cooperation program and steps to develop educational work and school curricula.

In a statement to reporters, Minister Tabbaa shed light on the historical relations between Syria and Pakistan and the ongoing cooperation agreements in the field of education and culture, pointing to the importance of exchanging experiences through students and teachers in both countries, and the possibility of cooperation to address the phenomenon of school dropouts and the creation of virtual schools.

Minister Tabbaa pointed out that the program of the Pakistani minister’s visit comprises visiting a number of schools in the governorates and meetings with educational cadres to get acquainted with the reality of education in Syria and the development it has witnessed despite the difficulties imposed by the terrorist war and economic sanctions on the country, where the priority has been given to supporting education and empowering youth due to their importance in reconstruction process.

For his part, Minister Hussein explained that the purpose of his visit to Syria is to discuss the mechanism of developing relations in the educational field at various levels between the two countries, as well as benefiting from experiences and offering scholarships to Syrian students, noting to the depth of relations binding the two countries.
