LUGANSK, SANA-The People’s Council (parliament) of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) will start adopting laws within the Russian legislative framework and as a constituent entity of Russia later this month, speaker Denis Miroshnichenko told TASS on Wednesday.
“Very soon, I think, as early as this month, we will start adopting our first laws as a constituent entity of the Russian Federation,” he said.
Miroshnichenko added that in the past five years, the government adopted legislative acts with regard to Russia’s legal framework, so the process of LPR’s integration into Russia is likely to be completed way before 2026, the deadline set by the federal constitutional law.
Earlier, Miroshnichenko told TASS that the LPR parliament will adopt the region’s new constitution by the end of the year.
