Havana, SANA- Minister of Finance, Dr. Kenan Yaghi, head of the Syrian delegation participating in the G77-China Summit meeting, discussed with Cuban Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in health sector.
Minister Yaghi affirmed the Syrian government’s real intention to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Cuba in all fields, especially in pharmaceutical and vaccine domain through the agreements signed between the two parties with consideration of renewing and expanding them.
He also attached great importance to signing other agreements that help confront the unjust and illegal sanctions and blockade to which countries are exposed to by the US and some Western countries.
Miranda stressed the importance of the Syrian delegation’s participation in Havana Summit.
He expressed his country’s full readiness to push forward cooperation ties with Syria in a way that achieves mutual benefit for the two countries and the two friendly peoples and meets Syrian medical and pharmaceutical needs, including vaccines produced by Cuba.
During the meeting, it was agreed to follow up on what had been reached upon through practical steps and mutual visits between both countries.
