New York, SANA- With the participation of Syria, debates of the 78th high-level session of the UN General Assembly began in New York. Topics put on the agenda are expected to discuss, over the course of a week, the national statements of all member states of the UN.
In a report submitted to the General Assembly on the work of the UN, Secretary-General, António Guterres said that geopolitical tensions are rising and the world is facing a set of existential threats, such as the climate crisis and technologies disrupting old systems, at a time when the world is characterized by a transitional phase.
On the other side, Syria participated in the meeting of the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative, which China called for on the sidelines of the General Assembly, chaired by the Chinese Vice President.
