Syrian, Lebanese statement calls for putting an end to the Israeli aggression on Palestinian people


Damascus, SANA- Syria and Lebanon Monday called for an immediate stop to the systematic Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people and putting an end to the war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the occupation, stressing the need for continuing consultation and coordination of stances regarding the escalation taking place in the region and cooperation to ensure the return of Syrian refugees from Lebanon to their homeland.

“With a sincere Lebanese desire to visit Syria for consultation and coordination on stances regarding the common challenges facing the two brotherly countries and the escalation in the region, and in light of the Syrian welcome, Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib paid an official visit to Damascus today to meet Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Fayssal Mikdad,” Syrian and Lebanese Foreign Ministries said in a joint statement.

 The two sides condemned the systematic Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people, saying that it is necessary to stop it immediately and putting an end to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli entity and intensifying efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

They also stressed categorical rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or liquidate their just cause, calling for ending the Israeli occupation of Arab territories in Palestine, Lebanon and the Syrian Golan, as well as establishing the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The two sides discussed the aim of this visit, which is addressing challenges related to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon, affirming the importance of joint cooperation to ensure a descent return for the displaced Syrians.
