Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, said that relations between Syria and Armenia are deep and historic that were embodied in the unity of stances regarding many issues on the international area, particularly respect for sovereignty of states.
Mikdad who received an Armenian delegation of the National Assembly, headed by Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan Tuesday , said it is very important for the Turkish regime to stop escalating situation and conflicts in the region and to not intervene in the domestic affairs of sovereign countries.
In that context, Mikdad stressed the inhuman impact of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US and EU on the Syrian people.
Arshakyan, in turn, affirmed his country’s stance in rejection of all forms of occupation, appreciating Syria’s firm stance that supports Armenia.
“Armenia backs Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Arshakina added.
