New Delhi, SANA- The Indian capital of New Delhi hosted on Friday the first Indian trade conference with the Mediterranean countries in the presence and participation of representatives of the countries of the region, including Syria.
The Syrian delegation comprises the Assistant Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Rania Ahmed, Bassam Al-Khatib, the Syrian Ambassador to India, and Manal Qaddour, Minister Counselor at the Syrian Embassy in India.
The conference sessions focused on discussing ways of joint cooperation and enhancing economic, trade and investment relations between the countries and India seeking joint investment.
In a speech during the conference, Assistant Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade called on Indian companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria and benefit from the investment opportunities provided by Syria, appreciating India for its continuous support to Syria and extending the necessary assistance to it over the past years.
For his part, the Syrian Ambassador to India pointed out the importance of the historical relations between the two countries, and the close cooperation, communication and coordination between them, saying that India plays a major role in supporting the process of development and economic progress in Syria.
