Syria: Israeli occupation ban on UNRWA work in occupied Palestinian territories, a flagrant violation of international law

Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned Israel occuaption’s ban on work of United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to depriving the Palestinians of humanitarian aid, stressing this measure is considered a blatant violation of international law.

“The Syrian Arab Republic condemned this measure that aim to undermine more Palestinian rights, specifically the right of return, and impose collective punishment policy against Palestinian people, in coincides with the ongoing war crimes, genocide and forced displacement committed every day against the Palestinians”. Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement to SANA on Tuesday.

“The Zionist occupation entity continues obvious violation of the UN resolutions and international law, through imposing a ban on the work of “UNRWA” in the Palestinian territories, which will deprive the Palestinians of obtaining the necessary humanitarian aid”, the statement added.

Syria stressed the illegitimacy of this measure, and called for supporting the UNRWA’s work in providing aid to the Palestinians, as it warned against the disastrous consequences resulting from preventing Palestinians from humanitarian relief, according to the statement.
