Amman, SANA- Chairman Board of Commissioners of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) Haitham Misto, said that the Commission is studying a new request from another Jordanian airline company to operate its flights to Damascus International Airport, after allowing Royal Jordanian Airlines to operate its flights previously.

In a statement reported by the Jordanian Newspaper Ad-Dustour, Misto expected an increase in demand for flights between Jordan and Syria in the upcoming period, noting that there are many requirements and standards that the airline company submitting the request must adhere to in order to operate its flights to Syria.

Royal Jordanian Airlines announced the resumption of its flights to Damascus starting from January 31.

By next April, Royal Jordanian is preparing to increase its daily flights to Syria, where the short 25-minute journey time between Amman and Damascus is the shortest by air from Damascus, providing a quick and easy connection to Royal Jordanian’s network of more than 45 destinations.
