At least 7 regime troops have been killed by rebels in al-Manshiya neighborhood in southern Daraa city, a military operation room said Friday.
Al-Bonyan al-Marsous Operation Room said that the opposition fighters launched attack on regime checkpoints early Friday, killing 7 troops and wounding dozen.
The operation room, also, said an army lieutenant Colonel was executed by the Lebanese Hezbollah militia over charges of ‘treason’ in al-Manshiya. No further details has been revealed.
Al-Manshiya neighborhood, the regime’s largest barrack in Daraa and which is a home for 20,000 people, has turned into battleground for rebels and regime forces for the last three months.
At least 160 regime troops were killed and 500 more were wounded since the fight erupted early February in al-Manshiya, rebels said.
