Four family members have been killed on Wednesday in regime barrel bombs attack on southern Daraa province as skirmishes escalate in strategic district in the Old City, local activists said.
Two children, wife and husband were killed in the attack on Nasib town at the border with Jordan.
On Tuesday, regime air force carried out 30 raids in the eastern countryside of Daraa while its helicopters dropped 36 barrel bombs, local monitoring groups said.
In hte Old City, rebels fighting regime forces in the al-Manshiya district said they had seized control of 20 more buildings overnight.
The district is almost under rebel control after rapid advance this week, rebel military commander said. Just Sajna area still out of rebels control.
Al-Bonyan al-Marsous Operation Room, in statement, said rebels had controlled 90 blocks and 4 checkpoints in al-Manshiya.
Al-Manshiya neighborhood, the regime’s largest barrack in Daraa and which is a home for 20,000 people, has turned into battleground for rebels and regime forces for the last three months.
At least 160 regime troops were killed and 500 more were wounded since the fight erupted early February in al-Manshiya, rebels said.
The rebel groups that participate in the battles, including Haya’t Tahrir al-Sham, led by former al-Qadea offshoot -formerly known as the Nusra Front- and Ahrar al-Sham.
