Damascus, SANA- As part of the Ministry of Health’s plans to enhance cooperation with Syrian medical communities abroad, Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Dr. Maher Al-Sharaa, met with a group of doctors and pharmacists representing Syrian communities in France, Germany, Canada and Turkey.
The meeting witnessed a fruitful exchange of views and ideas on ways to advance the health sector in Syria, where Dr. Al-Sharaa stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with creative Syrian medical cadres abroad, who have extensive experience in various medical specialties.
The challenges facing the health sector in Syria under the current circumstances were also discussed, as well as ways to improve health services for Syrian citizens.
For their part, representatives of the communities expressed their readiness to provide technical and advisory support, and organize training programs and conferences aimed at raising the level of medical efficiency within Syria.
The importance of cooperation in the fields of medical research and the exchange of expertise in the fields of treatment and prevention were also on the table.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Maher Al-Sharaa stressed the need to benefit from the national expertise available to the Syrian medical communities abroad.
He noted that the Syrian government is striving with all its energy to advance the health sector to be at the forefront of its priorities.
