How can you make life out of the killing machine and its tools? Just follow what young people from the Jaydour area in the northern West Bank village of Daraa did when they turned the military reconnaissance battalion which was bombing, killing and arresting them into agricultural and animal production projects after liberation by the rebels.
Battalion 86 was one of the military points filled with tanks and heavy machinery to bomb the liberated areas of Houran. Today, it is a large green area planted with wheat, barley and Nu'maneh. The camps are also used to raise poultry, birds and livestock to earn a living.
The project owners suffer from difficult conditions in securing the production requirements especially with the lack of support from local councils or civil society organizations, which delay the generalization of the experience on the rest of the military and provide dozens of opportunities for young unemployed
