42 regime forces from Tartus killed in two weeks

At least 42 regime army troops from the coastal city of Tartus have been killed by ISIS and rebels in the last two weeks, activists told Ammar Johmani.

The death toll included 2 general brigadiers, 1 captain and 4 lieutenants, mostly were killed in eastern Hama and in the Syrian desert, known as al-badiya, as regime forces launched major offensive since May against ISIS and moderate rebels

Residents of Tartus, the regime's powerful militant supplier, say no men left in the city. Funeral everywhere and everyday.

Tartus suffered decades of negligence and constant resentment in comparison with the next-door city of Latakia where services and tourism and fortune.

Pro-regime news feeds said about 500 troops have been killed in the last three months in Hama and Homs and al-Badiya.

The Syrian Soldier, pro-regime Facebook page with wide network of sources, said more than 700 soldiers have been lost and killed since May in al-Badiya, not just by ISIS or rebels but due to lack of water and food.

Pro-regime activists blamed top army officers, saying those who are standing behind the missing of army soldiers. They have been deployed in desert without food supplies or telecommunication devices.

Syrian regime has depended on its allied militias mostly from Latakia and Tartus province in Badiya battles where most of them have no war experience.
