After sharing the difficulties of the siege and its and joining forces on the fronts of fighting nearly three years since the start of the military campaign on Darya, they shared the joy at a wedding party Wednesday evening in Maret Misreen in rural Idlib sposnsored by charitable Turkish and Syrian organizations.
The wedding, which included 62 young man from Darya who were forcibly displaced to the north, was held in accordance with the traditions and customs of the city adjacent to the capital, Damascus, where two ceremonies were held for the first wedding for men and one for women.
The young man Tamam Jana Abu al-Khair, from Daraya clarfified to Zaman al-Wasl that other weddings are supposed to be held during the coming period, pointing out that the current collective wedding is part of a project to marry young people from other Syrian cities.
He revealed that 6 similar collective weddings will be witnessed in other cities in the liberated Syrian regions, adding that the project aims to convey a message to the world that we are staying and steadfast in Syria.
The sponsor of the ceremony has paid all the expenses of the collective wedding and financial support to motivate young people to start a new family life in harsh conditions.
There are many young people who are reluctant to marry because of poor economic and security conditions. However, these collective weddings encourage many and push them to marry especially as it relieves them of the financial burdens of the ceremony, and gives joy in the hearts of their families.
"The ceremony is a challenge to the death coming from the regime and Russia," said Ghayath Abu Ahmad, one of the attendees.
"We are here to stay alive and we will remain despite all the tragedies, we are still able to feel happy," he said.
He revealed that the ceremony witnessed the raising of pictures of two grooms who were supposed to celebrate like other couples, on their wedding today, "but they were killed before their wedding."
The wedding included a wide variety of singing and singing groups, as well as performances of sword and many of the rituals and traditions of Damascus.
