Spokesman for Faylaq al-Rahman denounced a statement made by the al-Ghad al-Suri Movement- which blamed the key rebel group that operates in Eastern Ghouta suburbs, for being a part in the bloodshed taking place near the capital and by refusing to sign the cessation of hostilities agreement.
Wael Alwan said al-Ghad's statement is irresponsible, stressing that Faylaq al-Sham does not accept communication with such a movement that does not represent the revolution or the lowest faction in it.
"We did not allow to sign and do not know the details of the agreement and Faylaq al-Sham is serious and interactive with the political solution although all the political solutions to date is disabled because of the credibility of the Russian side," Alwan added.
Head of al-Ghad al-Suri Ahmad al-Jarba said in a press conference," Faylaq al-Sham did not sign on al-Ghouta agreement that’s why there are still clashes in some places.” He confirmed that the blood of the Syrian people is more precious than the registration of a point here or there. He pointed out that Jaish al-Tawheed is considered the main opposition armed faction which signed the Northern Homs countryside agreement to ease the tension.
Alwan added in his statement to Zaman Al Wasl, "Faylaq al-Rahman has committed itself to the Ankara agreement and committed to the areas of reducing the escalation, participated in the Geneva meetings and has the full right to defend itself against the attacks of the regime that did not stop."
Regarding the statement made by al-Ghad al-Suri that the areas of Ghouta are being bombed because of the refusal of the Faylaq al-Rahman to sign the agreement, Alwan said, "the claim that certain areas are being bombed and others not, are incorrect allegations al-Rayhan and al-Shamiye fronts controlled by The Army of Islam is under bombardment, but the bombing is largely centered on Gober and Ein Tarma and Zamalka because the regime aims to control it. "
He concluded, "we appreciate all international and regional efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people and support the political solution in accordance with the outcomes of Geneva and United Nations resolutions. We welcomed and still welcome all ceasefire initiatives as a fundamental step on the road to a comprehensive political solution."
