A young Syrian police officer was beaten almost to death by pro-Assad militants in Homs province when he was with his patrol checking the cars entering to the central city, activist said on Sunday.
Militants of Nusoor Homs militia, or Homs Eagles, refused to be inspected by First Lieutenant Rabea Bakeer, on contrary they opened fire of the patrol and brutally beaten Bakeer.
The officer was admitted to the hospital and no legal procedures taken against the militants amid the mounting power of paramilitary groups in Syria and the lost of State authority, activists say.
