Security Council rejects a Russian draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza

New York, SANA- The United Nations Security Council on Tuesday rejected a Russian draft resolution that proposed a solution to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

According to RIA Novosti, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Japan voted against the Russian draft resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, while Russia, China, the UAE, Gabon and Mozambique supported the draft, and Albania, Brazil, Ghana, Malta, Switzerland and Ecuador abstained from voting.

The Russian draft resolution included a call from the Security Council for an immediate, sustainable and fully compliant ceasefire in the Middle East.
