Cairo, SANA- Syria’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Hussam El-Din Ala, reiterated that the Syrian stance calling for an immediate, not temporary, cessation of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, and an end to the immoral siege on the Strip, stressed the necessity of using all political, diplomatic, and economic pressure tools to stop Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people .
The commemoration of International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and their Just Cause has an exceptional importance this year, with continuing the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, it is an aggression accompanied by the worst forms of war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity, as Ala said in his speech during the meeting of permanent delegates of the League of Arab States, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
The ambassador pointed out that the Israeli barbaric aggression against Gaza Strip since the 17th of October led to die more than 20,000 martyrs and those missing under the rubble, including 8.000 children, and caused 36.000 injuries, as well as one million seven hundred thousand Palestinians displaced within the Strip.
Ambassador Ala pointed out that the attempts of the occupying entity are continuing to escalate the situation in the region, ” via expanding its attacks on Lebanese and Syrian territories, including its recent aggression against Damascus International Airport, which confirms the racist and criminal nature of the occupying entity and holds it responsible for threatening international peace and security.”
Ambassador Ala added that this matter “puts the international community before its political and moral responsibilities to put an end to the Israeli killing machine that practices a scorched earth policy and puts the Palestinian people before the choice of genocide or forced displacement outside their land”.
The Syrian Arab Republic condemned the Israeli aggression and its crimes in the Gaza Strip, and its systematic violations of human rights and international humanitarian law throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, and demanded that the perpetrators be held accountable, he affirmed.
Ambassador underlined “Syria demands an immediate, not a temporary, cessation of the aggression, and an end to the immoral siege on the Gaza Strip in a way that ensures an urgent response to the humanitarian needs inside it, and the delivery of relief aid to the population on a continuous, sustainable and unconditional basis.”
The Ambassador Ala noted that in this context, Syria affirms its firm support for the inalienable rights of Palestinian people, including their legitimate right to self-defense, their right to self-determination, the return to their homeland, the establishment of their independent state on its entire national territory, with Jerusalem as its capital, and the end of the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories.” 1967, including the occupied Syrian Golan and the occupied Lebanese territories.”
