Damascus, SANA- Director of Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Imad Mustafa, and Cuban Ambassador to Damascus, Luis Mariano Rodriguez, on behalf of Higher Institute of International Relations at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutes at the building of the Ministry in Damascus.
That came in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, and the ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of South American countries in Damascus.
During his speech, Mikdad affirmed the deep historical relations between the Syria and Cuba, noting the importance of this agreement in terms of exchanging diplomatic and professional experiences.
Mikdad added that the crimes committed by the Zionist occupation forces in Gaza and the aggravating human tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people due to increasing the massacres and crimes against humanity, most of whose victims are children, women and the elderly.
He pointed out that the stances are taken by countries in South America to sever their relations with the Zionist entity, calling on the rest of their countries to adopt stances against Israel’s aggressive policies and practices that violate international humanitarian law.
For his part, Cuban ambassador in Damascus, pointed to the strength of relations between Syria and Cuba, the mutual support between the two countries in international forums.
He stressed the significance of signing the agreement in terms of exchanging experiences, which will reflect positively on the Syrian and Cuban diplomatic cadres, underlining that his country condemned the crimes committed by Israeli forces against the Palestinians.
