Dubai, SANA- The World Climate Action Summit kicked off Friday in Expo City Dubai with participation of the Syrian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, within the 28th session of the Parties Conference to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
On this occasion, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, announced establishment of a 30 billion dollars fund for global climate solutions, that aims to stimulate the collection and investment of 250 billion dollars by 2030.
This meeting comes at a time when the world is facing many challenges, the most important of which is climate change and its repercussions that affect all aspects of life, Sheikh Bin Zayed said.
The Emirati President and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, received world leaders, heads of government, delegations, and representatives of international organizations participating in the World Climate Summit before it starts its works.
On November 30, the activities of the 28th edition of the Parties Conference to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) launched in Expo City Dubai, which will last until Dec 12.
