US State Department: We express congratulations on the liberation of Syria


Damascus, SANA-US State Department mission expressed its congratulations on the liberation of Syria and the salvation from the previous criminal regime, stressing its commitment to supporting the Syrian people and the new Syrian administration, and standing by its side in the face of the pending issues and major challenges, such as the northeastern region of Syria.

That came during a meeting with Leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa and the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The mission affirmed its support for the steps announced by the new Syrian administration, especially with regard to enhancing stability, pushing economic growth forwards, and achieving comprehensive representation for all spectrum of the Syrian people as the two parties agreed that what happened is a historic victory for the Syrian people.

For their part, members of the delegation thanked the new administration’s efforts to release detainees, including the American citizen “Travis,” in addition to the serious efforts to search for “Otson,” praising the good management of the current stage and the constructive steps taken to form the Ministry of Defense and the unified Syrian army.

The Syrian side expressed its welcome to the mission, noting that the Syrian people contributed to saving the region from chaos and foreign interference by getting rid of the previous criminal regime, adding that the Syrian people need great support to achieve recovery at all levels, calling for the lifting of the sanctions imposed on them.

The Syrian side also showed the importance of providing the Syrian people with the opportunity to rest from the scourge of war and conflict, and presented the development and institutionalization program that will be launched in modern Syria, stressing the need for accountability and achieving justice by pursuing war criminals and symbols of the former regime.
