Israeli army forces detained two young men on 18 February from the village of al-Masritiya (Yarmouk Basin, western Daraa, southern Syria).

“Daraa 24,” a southern Syria activist outlet, reported that the Israeli army detained Salem al-Taha and another young man whose identity was not known, and took them into the occupied Golan.

Enab Baladi’s correspondent confirmed the detentions, saying an Israeli patrol made up of 18 military vehicles moved out from the Wadi al-Ruqad area (western Daraa) toward Jamlah (Yarmouk Basin, western Daraa) before reaching al-Masritiya and taking the two young men into the occupied Golan.

The correspondent added that the Israeli army detained, on Tuesday, the young man Ahmad al-Eisawi from the village of Sida Golan (southern Quneitra, southwestern Syria), before releasing him around noon on Wednesday.

“Daraa 24” also reported that an Israeli force of more than 20 military vehicles penetrated al-Masritiya after passing west of Sida Golan in southern Quneitra countryside. The force remained for more than an hour, during which it carried out deployments and house searches and set up two checkpoints before withdrawing.

Another Israeli patrol of nine vehicles set out at dawn today from a base on Tal Abu Ghaithar inside the occupied Golan toward Sida Golan. It took the Sida Golan, Ain Dhikr road heading toward al-Masritiya, with no detentions reported.

In the context of Israeli violations, trained K9 dogs attacked a woman inside her home on 16 February during an Israeli army incursion into Ghadir al-Bustan (southern Quneitra), leaving her with injuries to her hand and face.

According to the activist network “Quneitra Now,” Israeli forces detained, during the operation, the two young men, Hamza al-Koum (19 years old) and his brother Ali al-Koum (18 years old).

Detention in Jubata al-Khashab

The Israeli army carried out several incursions, during which it detained a young man from Jubata al-Khashab (northern Quneitra) on 16 February.

Media activist Nour Golan told Enab Baladi that an Israeli force of seven military vehicles set out from the “Hamidiyah” base in central Quneitra countryside, as a reconnaissance drone flew over the area.

He added that the patrol moved from the “Hamidiyah” base toward the village of al-Hurriya, then to the village of Ofania, reaching the town of Jubata al-Khashab. There, it raided a house, searched it, then detained a young man inside and took him to the “Hamidiyah” base.

Nour Golan said that in the morning, at around 7:00 a.m., another patrol set out from the western Tal al-Ahmar base in the southern sector and headed toward the village of al-Asbah, where it deployed at the village entrances and in its surroundings.

At the same time, another incursion was recorded in the village of Al-Mushrifah in central Quneitra countryside through an additional military patrol.

The Israeli army also detained a young man from the village of Ain Zivan (southern Quneitra) on Friday, 10 February, during an incursion into the village with eight military vehicles.

The Israeli army detains some people in southern Syria for a few hours or days in some cases, while continuing to hold others without releasing them, amid a lack of information clarifying their fate or the exact destination to which Israeli forces take them.
